Welcome!
On the following pages you will find schedules, events, times and places where the people of God assembled at Green Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church feed their faith, give expression to that faith and encourage one another as brothers and sisters in the family of God.
You won't find a lot of pictures of people--we believe members are to be served, not marketed.

You will find a lot of God's Word in sermons and Bible Classes. You will also find links to groups we either support within our national church body or worthy groups and causes we have agreed to publicize for a time.
Let us know what you think. We'd rather engage in a conversation with our audience than simply speaking to the wind.
Like the life of every Christian, this website is a work in progress.

We have a great group, Truth in Love Ministry, that is reaching out to people troubled by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. See what they offer: www.truthinloveministry.net
We work to meet the physical needs of the less fortunate in our community through the caring, targeted and effective work of Lutheran Social Services. You can check out their website to see how they are alleviating suffering and how you might be able to help! www.lssnv.org

Mark Alan Harmon(1959 - 2013)
Mark Alan Harmon, 53, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013, of prostate cancer at the family home in Mussel Shoals.
He retired from work in September of 2012, due to cancer, and came home to live out the remainder of his life with his mother and loved ones. As soon as he settled in, many friends came to visit Mark. He always said "what better place to live watching the dolphins play in the ocean."
Mark was born August 25, 1959, in San Jose, Calif. He grew up in Ventura, graduating from Buena High School in 1975. Mark purchased a construction water truck and traveled between California and Nevada for work. He finally settled down in Las Vegas with Contri Construction for the last 15 years. Mark was a devoted Christian for over 30 years. He taught 6th grade Sunday school, adult small group, and was an elder at his church.
Mark married Becky Will of Ventura in 1981. They had two sons, Bryan now of Ventura, and Matthew of Las Vegas. They all enjoyed the outdoors. Mark and Matt took up scuba diving and Bryan has become a surfer.
Mark is survived by his mother, Nancy Harmon; brother and sister in-law, Dave and Lesley Harmon of Keno, Ore., and their son, Jake (who was deceased in October 2012); long time friend, Tommy Nichols; and various nieces and nephews. Mark's father, Lester Harmon preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Livingston Memorial Hospice, 1996 Eastman Avenue, Suite 101, Ventura, Calif., 93003 or a charity of your choice . "God Bless." A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2013, 2 p.m. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura with Pastor James Proeber officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com.
